Red Flags sound scary… It’s always associated with the most negative connotations. To be frank, red flags are basically screening questions to rule out any serious, sinister or questionable presentations. The reason for this, as you can imagine, is to prevent any unwanted consequences and establish early treament plans.
There are a number of red flag questions which screen for cancers, nerve damage, fractures, deep vein thrombosis and more.
A few examples of cancer red flags questions include: unexpected weight changes, night sweats, infections, visible changes on the body. Other more area specific red flag questions include: gait disturbances, urinary retention, saddle anaesthesia – all of which are assessing lower back type issues.
